Yeah, I tried WireShark, but I dont think it'll help me reducing the amount of data. I've just seen that most of the data doesnt have to be sent (just some single values), thats why I thought about "translating" the protocol.
I made a lot of TCP/IP programming in different languages but I don't have the time to look at ipx in detail (well I dont want to, because it was just for ABM (maybe a lot of work just for a really old game

) and I dont want to reinvent the wheel: these guys from
http://bomberman.spb.ru already did it, but there're still some things missing, for example a proper compression)
